She's the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs and was front row at the Chanel haute couture show. Now, at the tender age of just 13, Elle Fanning has reached another fashion landmark.

The teen actress, who starred in Sofia Coppola's latest film Somewhere, graces the cover of glossy fashion bible LOVE.

And it seems she had to harness her skills on set, as the final image shows her hands placed together as if in prayer, with a single tear falling down her face.

Ethereal: Actress Elle Fanning, 13, appears on one of six covers for
the new issue of LOVE magazine

Dressed in white lace Anna Sui with her bleached blonde hair tumbling around her face, the young star, who speaks to Alexa Chung in the accompanying interview, channels a gothic Victorian look.

The image was shot by top fashion photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, who recently shot Penelope Cruz for V Magazine and Rachel Weisz in her new ad for Bulgari.

The latest issue of LOVE magazine is set to have six different covers in total, but Elle's is the only to be released so far.

All grown up: Elle, pictured in the new Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign and at the Hollywood Super 8 premiere in June, admits to being obsessed with fashion

The teenager's passion for fashion was revealed in another interview published this month, in which she admitted she sketches her own designs in her spare time.

Her sister told Vogue: 'I am in the normal range when it comes to clothes. Elle is not normal.'

But before she can embark on a full-time career in the industry, Elle must complete her education, and is due to start middle school this September.

Rising star: Elle has been acting since she was two, but only shot to fame last year when she appeared alongside Stephen Dorff in Sofia Coppla's film Somewhere

She said she was relieved to be free of her elementary school uniform of navy skirt or trousers and a white shirt.

'It's hard to find navy,' she explained. 'You have to go to the gross uniform store.'

She has not let her acting career slide though. Elle is to appear in We Bought A Zoo in December and Francis Ford Coppola's Twixt Now and Sunrise as well as the Twilight saga.
