Taylor Swift at New York Fashion Week

Lovely in lace: Taylor Swift uses the sidewalk as her catwalk at New York Fashion Week
By Sophie Forbes

While models strutted their stuff down the catwalks at New York's Lincoln Centre, Taylor Swift took a different approach.

The country singer showed off her modelling wares in a stunning lace creation, as she sashayed down the sidewalk in Downtown New York today on her way to the Rodarte show at Fashion Week.

The 22-year-old star displayed her lean, supermodel-esque physique in the sheer cream dress which she paired with nude platform wedge heels.

Taylor then headed into the show where she joined Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and actress Rooney Mara in the front row of the show.

Pregnant singer Beyonce and her sister Solange were seated just a few seats down.

Meanwhile, Taylor will be battling the boys at the upcoming 2011 Country Music Association Awards.

She is one of four country stars with five nominations, including the CMA's top award, entertainer of the year.

She'll compete with Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean and last year's winner, Brad Paisley, in the entertainer category.

Aldean, Shelton and Paisley were the others with five nominations apiece. Zac Brown Band and The Band Perry were next with four.

The nominations marked a breakthrough for Aldean and Shelton, both first-time entertainer nominees and long overlooked at awards shows until recently.

Like Paisley, Swift and Urban have each won an entertainer trophy before.

Swift is also up for female vocalist of the year with Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Sara Evans and Miranda Lambert, who won the honor last year on her 27th birthday.

Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the award show for a fourth time live Nov. 9 from Nashville on ABC.
