If she hadn't already cemented her sex appeal in her various movie roles, Kerry Washington has done just that in a new photo shoot.

The Ray actress posed provocatively in very little clothing for the latest issue of DETAILS magazine.

The 34-year-old can be seen lying seductively on a sofa wearing nothing but a shiny blazer and high heels by Theyskens' Theory, as well as some barely visible Blush underwear.

Her outfit is accessorised only by some bright red lipstick and nail varnish to match.

The Fantastic Four actress appears in the February issue of the publication to promote her upcoming TV show Scandal.

Kerry stars in the drama series as Olivia Pope, a professional fixer who aids her clients in making their problems go away.

She also recently attended a panel event in Los Angeles to publicise the show, which is produced by Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.

And Scandal is not the only venture that is set to see Kerry's star rise in the year ahead.

She will appear in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming movie Django Unchained alongside an all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, and her ray co-star Jamie Foxx.

The story centres around a slave-turned-bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife from a villainous plantation owner.

The actress seems set to become a household name, but told the magazine she is already enjoying being recognised by strangers.

She said: 'I guess what they’re going to say they know me from.'

And she laughed that she can count on people to remember her as the long-suffering wife in Ray: 'That's the wild card in Uno.'

But she also told the magazine that she never had a desire to be a celebrity.

She said in the interview: 'I wasn't invested in the fame part.'

But the beauty loves exploring different characters, and said: 'I’m really fascinated with how people become who they are.'
