She's not even in the film but her short skirt and long legs certainly got her some attention.

Gossip Girl Blake Lively stood out from the crowd in New York on Wednesday night at a special screening of the new movie Haywire.

While most of the celebrities in attendance stuck with classic black, the 24-year-old braved the cold to wear a short-sleeved sequined top and short grey skirt.

The actress did make some effort to keep her legs warm by covering them in a pair of opaque navy blue tights.

She wore a pair of funky, platform lace-up shoes.

In contrast Haywire star Gina Carano looked looked sexy but understated in a tight black dress and fitted jacket.

Her co-star Ewan McGregor looked dapper in a double-breasted black jacket with the collar popped up to keep him warm.

Gina, 29, is the breakout star. The curvy Texan is an actress, model and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter.

She wasn't the only celebrity dressed in black.

Elizabeth Banks, 37, made a red carpet appearance in a mini dress with ruffles on the bottom. She too was wearing a fitted jacket.

Pop singer Aaron Carter, 24, arrived in a blue pinstriped suit - his pink shirt and multi-coloured purple tie adding a splash of colour.

Two other women dared to be different and stray away from traditional black evening wear.

Martha Marcy May Marlene actress Louisa Krause wore a silk pale pink dress, which was covered in black, white and green unicorns.

Meanwhile former child star Anna Chlumsky sparkled in a blue sequined dress. The My Girl actress is now 31.

But it was the wife of actor David Alan Basche who made a statement with her royal blue top.

Actress Alysia Reiner's shirt was virtually backless, with a large section cut out, exposing her flesh.

Haywire opens in the US this week.
