Diana Vickers puts THAT advert behind her with second collection for Very
By Lauren Paxman

Diana Vickers' last campaign for Very.co.uk landed her on a list of the worst celebrity adverts of 2011.

It was no reflection on the clothes - the girlie designs sold well - but even so, perhaps the former X Factor finalist is trying to make us forget all about the advert by coming up with a new, more grown up inspiration, for her second collection with the online clothing brand.

All grown up: For her second collection for Very.co.uk, Diana Vickers
was inspired by the Fifties and Sixties

While her last Dee V collection featured girly, Seventies-inspired wide trousers and jumpsuits, these designs, which go on sale today have a slightly edgier rockabilly feel.

Diana is styled with a Fifties quiff, blood-red lips and oversized cat eye glasses. And the 20-year-old's clothes include a red satin shirt - tied in a knot above the waist - tight jeans and a huge clown-like white collar with a black vbow.

Our favourite piece is a cute white coat with a high neck and three-quarter length sleeves - worn, suggestively, with nothing underneath.

Diana claims that Brigitte Bardot is one of her style icons and it is easy to see the French actress' influence here.

Diana says: 'I love all those old fashioned vintage shapes: lots of
quirky prints and bright colours'

Other designs include a quirky apple-print dress, a giraffe-print t-shirt, a utilitarian-style playsuit and fine cosy cable knits.

Diana says: 'My inspiration came from the 1950s and early 1960s retro style.

'I love all those old fashioned vintage shapes: lots of quirky prints and bright colours.'

It's a wonder she found the time to come up with ideas at all - the young singer was also recording her second album while the Dee V collection was being put together.

She is not alone, Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby also managed to put together collections for the popular website while juggling busy work schedules... their adverts did fare slightly better though.
