Not given up the ghost yet then! Reformed party animals Kate Moss and Stella McCartney enjoy a girls' night out

They've been uncharacteristically well-behaved in recent months, prioritising the demands of married and family life over the urge to party.

But it seems that Kate Moss and best friend Stella McCartney haven't quite given up their old ways yet.

The pair enjoyed a girl's night out at the Arts Club in Mayfair yesterday evening.

Looking rather more composed than she has on past occasions, Kate arrived in a leopard print coat and trademark skinny black trousers.

Stella opted for navy blue leggings, white top and furry black jacket.

Possibly Kate was celebrating the success of her trip earlier in the day, when she went to check the progress of the improvements being made to her new house in Hampstead.

Changing her ways? Kate, who arrived with pal Sadie Frost in tow, looked very cool and composed as she turned up- a contrast to her former clubbing form

The ladies were reportedly joined by pal Sadie Frost at the club.

It's been a rather tame January for former raver Kate, who celebrated her 38th birthday rather modestly at two London restaurants earlier this week.

For her second meal out at favourite restaurant China Tang at The Dorchester, Kate invited only husband Jamie Hince and her close friend Stella.

Both Kate and Stella, formerly an unrivaled presence on the clubbing circuit, have been embracing a toned-down approach to their social lives of late, choosing instead to focus on family and upcoming projects.

Stella McCartney is one of latest big industry names to sign up for Livia Firth's Green Carpet Challenge.

The designers will join a host of other fashion houses including Chanel, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent to create original eco-friendly dresses for Colin Firth's wife to wear on the red carpet during awards season.

For each awards ceremony (from the Baftas to the Oscars and the Golden Globes), there will be some talent - an actress or actor - who will also wear one of the 'green' designer dresses.

In an interview with this month's Vogue magazine, the designer spoke of her devotion to the four children she has with husband Alasdhair Willis - MIller, Bailey, Beckett and Reiley - all of whom are under the age of seven.

There, while Alasdhair works on the garden, Stella indulges her passion for riding and cooking for her clan - calling herself 'a three cooked-meals-a-day mum' on weekends.

She rarely has a late night these days, and confessed: 'Sometimes, someone will go, come on, let's have another tequila shot, and I'll have one, and then it'll be 11 o'clock, and I'll know I've got to get up for the kids, and I'm not even p***** yet, and I'll think, why bother?'

'Sometimes I wish I were less sensible... Maybe I'll start again when I'm 50.'
