When a celebrity waxwork is unveiled it can be fairly easy to tell the difference between the model and the real thing.
But Kate Winslet's one looked so much like her that it was almost like the actress herself had stood in its place.
A waxwork of the 35-year-old star was unveiled at Madame Tussauds, making her the latest Oscar-winning addition to the museum's famous faces.
Uncanny: Kate Winslet's waxwork was unveiled at Madame Tussauds yesterday and was an incredible likeness of the Oscar-winning actressHer likeness had been modelled on the moment when she won an Emmy award for her title role in mini-series Mildred Pierce earlier this year.
Model-makers spent months perfecting the figure of Winslet right down to the red cap-sleeve Elie Saab dress which she wore to collect her prize at the ceremony.
The hair on the model is exactly the same style, her fringe sweeping across her right eye.
Finishing touches: One of the museum's artists gives Kate's likeness a last minute touch upAnd the sparkly drop earrings are almost identical to the ones she wore at the 63rd Primetime Emmys in September at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Winslet takes her place among other British acting talents such as Dame Helen Mirren and Dame Judi Dench and marks her 20th year in the industry.
Madame Tussauds PR manager Liz Edwards said: 'Guests from around the world voted for Kate Winslet in droves - she has clearly got wide reaching global appeal.
Pride of Britain: Kate takes her place in the museum alongside
Dames Helen Mirren and Judi Dench'She is an iconic actress of a generation; a true English Rose and we're delighted to be creating a figure of her.'
Winslet won the Best Actress award for her title role in the mini-series and gave an emotional speech upon accepting the award.
She jumped out of her seat and punched the air as she walked up to the stage and said: 'Oh look I really did win it.Thank you so so much this means such a great deal.'
